Student subculture as a facet of the organizational culture of the university

Abstract

Organizational culture in a modern company is a significant factor that has a significant impact on all its activities. The organizational culture of the university, having its own distinctive features, forms such values as professional competence, creative aspiration, social adaptability and responsibility in the university community, which positively affects the quality of vocational education, personal formation and competitiveness of graduates in general.

This article is devoted to the study of the student subculture, the carriers of which are the most numerous part of the university. Students have their own worldview, norms of behavior and values that are in development and formation. It actualizes the need for research, the purpose of which was to identify the main characteristics of the organizational culture of the university and the attitude of students to them, as well as to find ways of purposefully forming its individual elements to improve the quality of vocational education and personal development.

The study was conducted in the Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service by questioning students and graduates and identified their value orientations; Relationship with teachers and administrative staff; Attitude towards the university, its corporate style, traditional events, norms and rules as elements of the organizational culture.

As a result of the conducted research, the positive attitude of students towards the university and teachers, knowledge of the norms, elements of the corporate style, etc. was established in general. The most significant factors that form a positive attitude to the culture of the university are: the quality of teaching; Conditions for study and living, including infrastructure; Relations with fellow students and teachers; Cultural and social life. The problem characteristics of the student subculture are identified, the need for purposeful work on the development of the student subculture, including the active involvement of students themselves in this work, is determined.
